Never Stop Learning...

Hoping everyone is having a long, relaxing and productive extended weekend. I myself am very happy about having an extra day off.  If I could have an extra day off every week, I swear I'd be a brand new person. :)  \

My weekend started off awesome as my husband sold one of my jewelry sets, talk about hustle man from the 5th floor, yup that's my hubby and I love him for it.  I always talk about having a great support team when in the process of accomplishing your goals as it makes a world of difference and I stick by that as it's so very true.

Friday night the husband and I went over to the besties and had an awesome time watching Kevin Hart, drinking wine, eating pizza and playing Nintendo Wii.  I then spent my Saturday and Sunday doing absolutely nothing as I was completely exhausted but it paid off as today I am feeling good and ready to get back to business. :)

With this extra long weekend, I took the time to go over my 2013 goals and two of the main goals I am working on are below.

Goal #1: Yes, I am a grown woman who can't swim and I definitely fit the stereotype of most black people not knowing how to swim but I vow this year to be my year to change that. ;) I remember being young and trying to swim, you know the one leg up and the one leg holding onto the swimming pool floor, I know I can't be the only who did that :) but that is just something that will no longer rock as I get older.  Ok, maybe it could but I am now at a point in my life that I refuse to stop learning and the older I get the more I want to learn and learning how to swim is one step in the right direction.

There are many people who grow older and decide that if they didn't learn something while they were young, what's the sense of them learning now but this definitely shouldn't be the case.  It's never to late and you are never to old to learn anything. Especially now that I want to become a  mom, i don't want to be sitting on the sideline while the husband and kids go off frolicking in the water, I want to play too. :)  After conducting much research about where I can take swimming lessons without breaking the bank, I finally decided that the YMCA may be the best choice for me so off I go next weekend to find out what they have to offer... stay tuned...

Goal #2: Learning how to ride a bike... I remember my dad taking me out one time when I was maybe about 6 or 7 years old and I wasn't listening and we were going down a hill and the bike and I went for a joy ride.  I guess Dad was like the party is over, my baby girl will not hurt herself and this bike is evil, lol.  That was the first and last time I have ever been on a bike. No, actually the last time was when I got on hubby's bike while it was parked peacefully in our living room and let's just say I didn't get far.  Although the memory with my father was an hysterical one and a great memory to hold onto, for many years I have had this craving to learn how to ride and once again, I refuse to just sit on the sideline.

No longer will I say I can't, I will try and try and try again until I learn.  I vow no matter the age, no matter the thought, I will learn and continue to learn throughout life and nothing or no one will stop me.

Thank you to everyone for reading and please make sure to leave your comments below and tell me something that you would love to learn and vow to learn in 2013.

xoxo
