Change Is The Key...

I'm finally back from my weekend getaway in the ATL and I have to say, it was awesome.  Such a laid back atmosphere (just like I like it) and I love the friendliness of the city. I'll definitely be posting pics and details in the Just Me section, stay tuned.

Although my trip was awesome, it just solidified hat the husband and I are definitely due for some change.  He has been ready to get the hell out of NY for a couple of years now and although I've been wanting to leave and go somewhere new, I've been letting quite a few things hold me back.

When returning from this trip I realized that I'm truly over NYC.  Nothing against my city but I was born and raised here and I'm pretty much over the congestion, the fast pace, etc.  It's definitely time for relaxation and a breath of fresh air.  This will always be my home but it's time to call somewhere else home.

I've realized that like most people I hold myself back not necessarily because I want to but because I may feel guilt for leaving others behind, or I listen to others who state that you can't make money anywhere else like you do here, etc, etc.  I thought to myself, why should I let this be the case, I can always comeback and visit those I feel that I'm leaving behind or vice versa.  Why can't I make a living somewhere else, especially if I have my own? When talking to others I have come to realize that I am not the only one who has encountered this issue but at the same time if I don't do what I feel is right for me and my family then how will I ever be truly satisfied and happy?

When staying behind for others, you may start to live a life of regret because you didn't take that leap and you may start to resent those you stayed behind for.  Also, listening to others shouldn't be a factor because what is right for them may not be right for you.  In life we have to realize that we can't live our lives for others, we can only live it for ourselves. Those we love and care for have lived or are living their lives they way they choose or have chosen to and it is now time for us to do the same.

We only have one life to live and now is the time to start doing what makes each of us happy.

What have you done in your life for the betterment of yourself and your family and how has it made a difference?

Thank you all so very much for reading and remember to leave your thoughts and comments below.
xoxo
