Throughout life many of us are so focused on what happened in the past, and what may or may not happen in the future, that we forget to focus on the here and now. When focusing on the past or the future, usually what may come with it is stress and anxiety. You become stressed with past thoughts as you may not want them to re-occur, you become anxious about the future because it's killing you to know what will occur.
I have learned that when you focus on the now it makes life much simpler and more enjoyable. Let the past be the past, the future be the future, and live your life for today.
Below is a passage from Rhonda Byrne that I wanted to share with my fab ones as it gets more in depth into the, remember to remember, notion. I read this three times back to back to make sure that it sunk in and I carry these words with me everyday.
Remember to remember means remember to be aware. Remember to be aware in this moment right now. Being aware is seeing everything around you, hearing everything around you, feeling everything around you, and being completely focused on what you are doing right now.
Most people bring what they do not want because they are not aware that they are listening to the thoughts in their heads about the past and the future. They are not even aware that they are being hypnotized by those thoughts, and are therefore living their life unconsciously.
When you remember to be aware, you are aware immediately. You just have to remember to remember!
Do you live in the past and future and not in the present?
Thank you so much for reading and remember to leave your thoughts and comments below.
