Benefits of Journal Writing...How Has it Helped You?

My apologies for not posting sooner ladies but it's been a rough week and I was seriously sleep deprived.  I seriously need to stop falling asleep on the couch mid-blogging, lol.

Remember when you were young and you use to keep a diary and write about that cute boy you were crushing on in class, or the fear of starting junior high or high school?  Well a journal is no different from that diary you use to write in, as it's just a fancier term for us adults.  A journal serves the same purpose as that diary and that purpose is to express your feelings.

I had been thinking about buying a journal for a while and finally a few weeks ago I decided to order one. Now those who know me know that I always like to find something cool and different and on Amazon I found a set of very cool Twilight Journals, yay! Yes, I could have simply went to Duane Reade and bought a journal but these were cooler and dirt cheap and the one's in Duane just looked boring. :) Sorry ladies got a little side tracked there now on to my point.

I bought these journals not only because they were super cute but because I wanted to begin writing in a journal on a daily basis to express all the different emotions I go through every day.  I had been thinking about doing this for a long time because as the years go by there is so much more added to your plate and at times you just need to write things down to clear your head.

Also, keeping a journal not only helps to clear your head but it also inspires you to jot down your dreams and goals in life and make them become a reality. This is what it has done for me and I would like it to do the same for others. I would love to inspire more ladies to start writing in a journal as there are so many benefits that can be achieved and to better help you ladies understand what those benefits are I have compiled the list below.

Reduces Stress
Sets goals and restrictions
Helps you to focus
Gives you time to yourself
You're able to tell your story to yourself
Gives you something to look back on in the future and shows you how far you have come
Personal reminder-tells you what's working and what isn't
Helps you to better understand yourself and your environment
Provides personal growth and freedom
Helps you to remember the lessons you've learned
Balances emotional ups and downs
Puts your dreams on paper
Will strengthen your relationships as you can better express your feelings
Helps you to speak out as it helps ideas become words
Helps you to acquire a quiet form of meditation as you are quieting the mind and focusing your thoughts.

These benefits are very important as it helps you to relax, relate and release, very old saying but so true.

Remember there are no limits to what you can write in your journal.  Boss pissed you off today? Write about it.  You and hubby got into an argument? Write about it. Happy about an upcoming wedding or pregnancy? Write about it. You saw your dream house today? Write about it.  Write about whatever your heart desires as it can simply solve issues and also bring dreams to light.

Expressing yourself through words in your journal will bring to you a breath of fresh air. If you are not already doing it now try it as it will make a world of difference in mind and spirit.

Thank you all so much for reading and remember to leave your thoughts and comments below.
